2024The 2024 Mining Annual General Meeting, hosted by the Mining Association of Zimbabwe, was held at the Elephant Hill Hotel in Victoria Falls on 28-30 May。Gong Xuedong, assistant president of China Mineral Resources Group Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "China Mineral Resources") and general manager of Bikita Mine in Zimbabwe, was invited to attend the conference and deliver a speech on behalf of lithium industry producers。
Gong Xuedong pointed out in his speech，Zimbabwe's lithium mining industry is currently facing a number of challenges，Governments and producers need to work together to meet the challenges，He called on the government to optimize its policies on licensing, taxation and exports，We will increase the development of local infrastructure in transportation, electricity and water supply，To provide a better investment and business environment for enterprises。At the same time, it is also recommended to adopt incentives and tax exemptions to encourage investors to conduct local processing of lithium ore to further enhance the international competitiveness of Zimbabwean mining enterprises。
During the meeting，宫学东还与津巴布韦矿业部长Winston Chitando、财政部副部长Kuda Managagwa、矿业协会主席Thomos Gono和税务总局局长Regina Chinamasa等10余位与会官员就锂矿行业形势分析及发展建议等议题进行了友好交流。
